Bikram Singh Brahma, Bodoland Territorial Area Districts' (BTAD's) Congress Co-ordination Committee President has been detained for allegedly attempting to rape a woman early on Thursday morning.
According to the sources, Brahma forcefully entered the residence of the victim at around 2 AM and allegedly attempted to rape her.
As the woman raised an alarm, angry villagers caught hold of him and beat him.
Confirming the incident, IGP of BTAD area G.P.Singh said, “Primary investigations reveal that it is a rape case but the picture will be clear only after the medical report of the victim.”
Embarrassed over the incident, spokesperson of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) Haren Das said, “If the investigation proves that the person is really involved in this case then the APCC would take stern action against him. We are waiting for the final report.”...... Read More
